Context in Islam

If ever there were a people that should understand "context" it should be Muslims.
The most fundamental declaration of faith, that all Muslims need to accept goes like this, "there is no God, but God"
Or in some translations "there is none worthy of worship, except God".
In either case, if the first half is taken out of context the whole meaning changes.
" There is no God".
In light of this, it's very strange and sad when I hear of Muslims who quote others "out of context" and distort and manipulate meaning by ignoring context.

We, of all people, should know better.

As an aside, I was searching for illustrations for another blog. The topic I searched for was "the pen is mightier than the sword".  But if you forget to space after word "Pen" it's a whole new ball game.
