Should we give up everything and join ISIS.

We are told that ISIS is recruiting using social media, and technology; That unsuspecting young people are lured into ISIS territory under the impression they that would be living an amazing life, free of the pressures of Western influence. People are disillusioned by their lives and looking for a better place, and ISIS claims they are it.

This is not a new phenomenon.

America, Israel and all the countries that were colonised were created and populated, and made great, but by exactly the same forces that are at play here.

Man has always been attracted to the concept of uprooting all attachments, and trekking across the world to settle in some land of promise or other. Someplace where the resources more abundant. Where you would be free to practice your religion and culture, free from persecution and ridicule. Lured by the promise of wealth, freedom, family, social acceptance they respond to the call and flock to the promised land.

The questions that need to be answered, are the following.

Are the people who are flocking to ISIS being duped into slavery?

Does ISIS have a legitimate right to the territory that they occupy.

Is there rule of law, freedom of choice in those areas.

The news organisations of the world are united in their attack on the fledgling state. So they are not reliable sources of truth in this case.

The only testimony we hear from people who have settled in these territories comes in the form of new recruiting videos on the net, so they too cannot be accepted as true.

The brutality of the broadcasted beheadings and executions have painted ISIS as barbarians that threaten the fabric of civilisation.

Their links with AL Qaida and other extremist groups puts them in the wrong side of the equation in all but a few discussions.

We need to find a way to extract the truth about ISIS. What is really going on.?

It also reminds me of how people lose their kids to cults. They give up everything including their free will and property to join the charismatic leader in some commune or other. Most would live their lives, swearing allegiance to the leader who held sway over them. To the death in many cases, including when he asked them to drink the Cyanid laced Kool Aid.

An alternate point of view is that there is a rise in levels of "crazy" all over the western world, and if there is somebody out there, who actually wants to import crazy, then f#@k em, let them him all the crazy he wants.
