"HPS" Hawa Propulsion System

It was just before supper when  I asked if anyone remembers the Lagrange points, and Hawa said that's where the aliens were hiding.

When I told them about the LaGrange points in the past, she was fascinated to hear that L3 was behind the Sun and a perfect spot for aliens to park, to avoid detection by us.

She said we should fly out and take a look. When I told her that we couldn't get to the other side as our route would take us too close to the Sun she had an idea. "Why don't we take the long route around the sun?" And stay away from the heat? I told her that it was too far and that we don't currently have any spaceships what could take humans that far.

She thought about it and excitedly said she had an idea for a new kind of rocket.

I told her we should probably have supper first but she was all fired up and afraid the idea might slip away, so I got her a pen and paper.

What she had in mind was a rocket with up to seven engines... She understood that if they flew faster the journey would be shorter.

I teased her about where all the poo would be stored, and how much food there would be on board, and to every seemingly impossible problem, she presented logical solutions. She even suggested that the outside have inflatable strong balloons that would allow the space ship to land bouncing on the cushion of air on planets or moons. I tried to tell her that the Mars rover used that same method to land and that I was impressed that she had come to the same solution as NASA but she was too deep in the zone to care about NASA and what they had done.

She was on 🔥 fire.

Six years old and she had, at least in her mind solved space flight.

I have so much to say about this incident that I don't even know where to begin.

She showed interest in the LaGrange points and remembered that the hidden L3 was invisible to us.
She thought her way around the issue of getting too close to the sun.
When told that her route would be too far and that we didn't have any vehicle capable of such a long manned flight, she switched her attention to designing a craft that might manage the long voyage.
Basically, she had a goal and she used all the facts available to her to work the problem.
